BEGINNERS COURSE:
COURSE CONTENTS:
Grammar, vocabulary and various
speech acts. Writing small texts like self introduction, about one’s family and
friends, description of places and objects etc. As learning a language also
involves introduction to the cultural aspects of the country, the course material will include
some topics about the French culture like cuisine, songs, films, popular sports
and festivals etc.

Examination:
At the end of the course VPM (Thane) will conduct an
examination and all the successful candidates will be awarded a certificate by
VPM (Thane).
ELIGIBILITY AND OTHER DETAILS

Eligibility for enrollment for the courses is minimum X th
standard.
µ
At the time of admission the students should furnish a) a
passport size photograph b) marksheet and passing certificate in original
and duly attested copies in support of their educational qualifications.
µ
For French and German the course fee includes the course
material which will be provided after the commencement of the course /during
the course.
µ
For Japanese language in addition to the prescribed
fee the students have to pay Rs800/- for the course material. The course material
includes a text book, audio cassettes and other study material.

Dr V.N. BRIMS reserves the right to discontinue any of the
course/s in languages (French, German and Japanese as the case may be) for
want of a viable number. The fees collected from the students including the
registration and exam fee will be refunded in the event of discontinuation
of any course/s.

Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very
basic phrases .Can introduce himself/herself and others and can ask and answer
questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she
knows, can describe various places and objects. Can interact in a simple way
provided the other person talks slowly.

Examination:
µ There will be continuous internal assessment during the course. At the end of the course the students whose attendance is satisfactory will be awarded a certificate of participation by VPM (Thane).
µ In December 2008 the students will appear for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and the successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency in Japanese Language.
