Activities: Department of Business Law

2014-2015

The activities for academic year 2014-2015 have started with the guest lecture on personality development and communication skills by Dr. Suja Roy Abraham. Activities has then followed by group discussions and debates on various current issues.Students have given good response to magazine review activity. Magazines dedicated to various subjects were selected.
The Department along with Students’ Forum has organized Model Youth Parliament competition. Overall seventy students most of them from SYBCOM have participated in it, out of that eleven students were selected for zonal round. Zonal round of Model Youth Parliament was conducted at the Convocation Hall of University of Mumbai on 30th January 2015. Students from SYBCOM, Archana Dixit as a Defense Minister, Kiran Bisht as a Member of Parliament to ask question on Government Policy and Vivek Tiwari as a newly elected member to take oath, were participated in it. Kiran Bisht was selected as one of the Best Speaker amongst other seven. Mumbai University Team of Model Youth Parliament has been selected for National Level Model Youth Parliament.
Lecture By Dr. Arvind Tiwari Dean Students’Welfare, TISS on the topic,  Human Rights: Perspectives and Challenges has been organized jointly with IQAC and Students’ Forum, on 2nd August 2014.
 SYBCOM students namely Chirag Verma, Amol Patil, Swapnil Ingale and Kiran Bisht attended National Symposium on the topic, Globalistion, Economic Democracy and Gandhi organized by CHM College, Ulhasnagar on 11th 12th and 13th December 2014.
. On 13th February 2015 three of our students from SYBCOM were participated in ‘Anurag’ 2015 an intercollegiate Competition held by New Law College, Matunga. Aashalesha Pawar and Vivek Tiwari in Parliamentary Debate and Tina Tomy  in Elocution Competition.
Students of SYBCOM along with the Students’ Forum members have participated in National Seminar organized by the College on the topic Article 370 of Constitution of India.
Mrs. Pradnya Rajebahadur has registered for Ph.D. under the Department of Law Savitribai Phule Pune University. She has successfully completed Orientation Programme with ‘A’ grade organized by Academic Staff College, University of Mumbai. She has also attended One Day Workshop on ‘Revision of Business Law Syllabus of SYBCOM organized by N.M. College of Commerce and Economics, Vileparle.
