Activities: Department of Business Law : Annual Report of Students’ Forum
2012-2013
This is the first year of the students’ forum. The teacher members are Prof.Mrs Pradnya Rajebahadur – Chairperson, Prof. Santosh Rane, Prof.Urmila Gawde and Prof.Tanuja Shah – Member. Vice Prinipal Prof. Subhash Shinde, Advisor.
The Forum has started the activities with the objectives;
1. To increase awareness of contemporary issues.
2. To nurture oratory and listening skills.
3. To enhance reading, research and analytical skills.
To achieve this, various activities has been carried out by the forum throughout the year. On August 3rd 2012, panel discussion on the topic ‘live-in-relationship-legal and social perspective was organized. Prof. Adv. Hetal Misheri and Prof suchitra naik discussied the issue from legal and psychological aspect.
On September 18th 2012, a lecture on reading skills by professor Dr.Savanur, Dept. of Library science was arranged. On September 18th 2012, 1st Book review competition was conducted. Total 9 groups of around 5-7 students participated. Professor Ms. Madhavi Arekar, Department of English and professor Radhika Parasnis-Gupte, Dept.of Marathi Jr.College, were the Judges
On 1st December 2012, Group discussion on ‘ Social responsibility of media’ was organized Prof. Ravindra Manjrekar, reporter of Maharashtra Times was invited as Guest speaker.
On 18th January 2013, a lecture on Effective communication skills by Prof. Tanvi Raut was organised.
On 18th Feb. 2013, 2nd Book review competition was held. Judges for the competition were Prof.Tanvi Raut and Prof.Tanuja Shah. Total 27 students participated through 10 groups.
