Activities
2007-2008
In the academic year 2007-2008 NCC Naval Unit of our college started its activities with the enrollment of cadets for first year & re enrollment of second and third year cadets.
On 15th August 2007 , Chairman of Vidya Prasarak Mandal Dr. Vijay Bedekar gave an oath to all NCC Cadets. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shakuntala Singh, & Vice Principal Dr. (Ms.) Padmini Murti & Prof. (Mrs.) Leela Bhatt & other teaching and office staff were present at the time.
Camp and social activities :
1) NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP :
ANO (Sub Lt.) Sable Deepak P. along with 3rd year Leading Cadets Sunil Chaurasia and 2nd year Cadet. Archana Mane represented our institution and Maharashtra State in the NIC camp held in New Delhi from 8th October 2007.
2) ADVANCED LEADERSHIP CAMP :
3rd year P.O. Cadet. Hrishikesh Joshi attended Advanced Leadership Camp, which was held in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu state from 22nd Dec. 2007 to 2nd Jan 2008.
3) ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP :
Annual Training Camp was held at Military Station, Wadala, Mumbai from 28th Nov.2007 to 7th Dec .2007. All our cadets keenly took part in the activities like tug of war, swimming, firing, semaphore, drill competition etc. Cdt. Sylvester Sequeira was awarded Bronze Medal in firing. Semaphore Group secured a Bronze medal as well.
4) SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES
Pulse Polio Immunization Programme:-
Our cadets held Thane Municipal Corporation (Health Department) during the pulse polio immunization programme from 25th Nov.2007 & from 6th Jan 2008.
5) BLOOD DONATION CAMP:
In the month of December 2007, ANO. S/lt Sable Deepak P. along with few cadets donated blood during the camp organization in the college.
6) GANPATI IMMERSION TRAFFIC CONTROL DUTY:
Our cadets of first year & second year were allotted to control traffic on Jamblinaka, Kalwa Naka & Reti Bandar during the Ganpati Immersion in Thane.
7) TRAFFIC CONTROL WEEK:
Our cadets of 3rd Year, 2nd Year & 1st Year , attainded the traffic control lectures held at Siddarth College organized by the Mumbai Police on the occasion of Traffic Control Week.
8) TREE PLANTATION :
During the tree plantaition activity organized by our college, Mango, Jackfruit & coconut trees were planted.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
In the acedimic year 2007-2008 an inter college group competition was held in our college where our N.C.C. 3rd Year & 2nd Year cadets attended the security duty for the college.
On 19th August 2007, Dr. Vijay Bedekar, the Chairperson of Vidya Prasarak Mandal, delivered a lecture on “ Corruption & its effects” organized by our NCC Naval Cadets, 32 Cadets of the Army (Boys), 20 Army (Girls) benefited by the lecture.
DISASTER MANAGEMENT DAY:
On 13th December 2007, Brigadier Deshpande explained the concept of Disaster & how it is managed. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shakuntala Singh, S/Lt Deepak Sable Naval Unit & NSS Co-ordinator were present on the occasion. It was followed by a question-answer session. Brigadier Deshpande gave detailed explanation about natural calamities like GUJARAT EARTHQUAKE, TSUNAMI, 26 July Mumbai Flood etc.
All these activities were organized successfully due to co-operation received from our Principals, Dr. Padmini Murti, Prof.(Mrs.) Leela Bhatt & the Vice-Principal & Supervisors of Jr.College.
