Department of History (2014- 2015)

  • Department of History had organized a Power-point presentation for TYBA on 30th July 2014. Topics were “Caves and Forts of Maharashtra” and “Architectural heritages of Thane city”.
  • A Power point presentation was organized for FYBA on 13th Feb 2015. Topics were “Architectural heritages of Mumbai” and “Architectural Heritages of Thane City.
  • Study Tour for TYBA students was organized on 18th Feb 2015 to Nashik. Student visited Kalaram Temple, Pandav leni, Dadasaheb Phalke Museum, Buddhist Pagoda and an exhibition on the life of Buddha.
  • Prof.Subhash G Shinde, HOD & Vice –Principal acted as a convener of  a one day National Seminar on Article 370 of Indian Constitution  held on 5th Dec.2014.,organized by Joshi-Bedekar college. Delegates and speakers from Jammu Kashmir participated in this seminar. As an IQAC co-coordinator, he took the lead in organizing a motivational lecture for non-teaching staff and in a one day seminar on 3rd cycle of NAAC and role of IQAC in higher education Institutions.
  • Dr.(Mrs) Indrani Roy completed her Refresher course in Research Methodology from Mizoram University, Aizwal.
  • She presented a paper on “Role of Elmina Castle in Atlantic Slave Trade”, on 27th Sep2014 a Seminar organized by Academic Staff College, in Mizoram University. She got recognition as a teacher of the university for MA degree.
  •  Her article “Wailing wall of Elmina Castle” was published as 5th chapter in the section I (International Attraction) in the book “Heritage Tourism: Marketing Legacy”, Bharati publication, Delhi .Her another article “Multi-religious Heritages of Thane city” published in Konkan Itihas Parishad’s Shodh Nibandh Sangraha ,Vol.8.
  • She attended 3 days National level yoga convention 2015, from 2nd January to 4th January 2015 organized by Ambika Yoga Kutir.
  • As an In-charge of Vivekananda Study Circle, in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra Kanya Kumari, She organized Inter-collegiate Youth convention 2015 on 12th January 2015 on the occasion of 152th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
