The polytechnic has
six departments. Each department has adequate number of well-equipped
laboratories, all of which address to the learning of the students. Shortly,
internet facilities will be provided in each laboratory.
The library covers a floor area of over 275 sq.ft. and has
got about 8700 books, twenty two Indian educational journals, and four
international periodicals. There are reference and reading sections for students
who wish to study in quiet atmosphere. The library is having open access system.
The library is modernized using computer networking and related facilities.

The computer centre has facilities for servers connected to all
departments and in the administration with adequate staff. There are PC/ATs and LAN
connected PCs. A number of Govt. recognized courses related to computer software
are conducted during the course of the year.
An audio-visual room which makes the teaching-learning process very
interesting is an asset for the college. This has a capacity for hundred participants
with latest audio-visual equipments. The facility is also open for corporates to
conduct their training programmes and seminars.
The institute also has a
training and placement centre. The polytechnic is in the
heart of Industrial Estate, Thane and Thane Belapur Industrial Belt. Most
of the Industrial concerns are providing opportunities for the diploma engineers
from the Institute.
The Industry – Institute Interaction cell strives to promote and
nurture closer interaction with the industries, and plays a more positive role in
establishing the Institute’s reputation. The activities are aimed at utilizing the
manpower and other resources available in the institute efficiently. The industries provide
the necessary assistance for satisfying the techno-industrial needs. A
two-year basic training course in Data Processing in Computer Software is conducted.
Besides, special training programmes for the technicians from M/s Aplab Ltd. was
conducted, (during 1992-94) so as to enable them to be upgraded within
the company. Short term training programmes are conducted for the industry
personnel from:
M/s Bayer India Ltd.
M/s Clariant, Thame.
M/s Gharda Chemicals Ltd.
M/s Parke Davis, Mumbai.
On various topics related to Chemical Engg., Instrumentation &
Process Control etc. for their operators.
All the departments have the necessary infrastructure and expertise to
design and implement short and long term training programmes to suit the
industry’s needs.
