VPM - CalUniversity Agreement

Vidya Prasarak Mandal, Thane, (VPM) is pleased to announce that it has entered into educational collaboration with California InterContinental University , USA, (CalUniversity) for conducting value added, professional courses namely, Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration. This is yet another feather in the history of the Vidya Prasarak Mandal, Thane.

The CalUniversity, incorporated in USA, is a distance education Institution of higher learning dedicated to the study of Business Administration and Management promoting quality learning, critical thinking, and the discovery of new knowledge for the benefit of diverse business communities.

VPM will screen the aspirants and will select them for admission in CalUniversity courses, will provide lecturers, facilitators and state-of-the-art facilities. CalUniversity will also send their lecturers to VPM as guest lecturers. Candidates will get the benefit of high quality lectures and tutorials directly from the University using teleconferencing & videoconferencing systems.

Examinations of the said courses will be conducted by the VPM and the assessment will be done by CalUniversity as per their norms. The minimum qualification required for Masters Degree course is Graduate and for the Doctorate Degree is Post Graduate of any Indian University. Candidates will have to bear the cost of approximately USD 10,000 being tuition fee for the said course. Candidates may have to visit CalUniversity for the specific lectures or for project study abroad conducted by the CalUniversity. In this case, the cost of accommodation, travel and other expenses will have to be borne by the candidates. On successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded Certificates by CalUniversity.

Admission Process

The documents of students aspiring to enrol in the courses (MBA, DBA) will be sent to
CalUniversity for final verification and evaluation.

Individual 'Acceptance Letters' will be given by CalUniversity with a roster for each course, with the list of approved, and thus enrolled students.

Attendance

The student's Learning Time will be monitored by timely submission of presentations, exercises, projects, reports, group discussions and contact with the ' Student Advisory Faculty' (SAF). Learning Time log will be maintained for each student to monitor his/her progression.

Attendance/Learning Time for a course will include at least 13 objective measures of attendance including 5 case studies, 5 Unit Exams or mini-projects, presentation, scholarly activity project and one final exam. However, certain courses may include other objective measures of attendance like, web presentations, collaborative discussions, web-based seminars and/or other scholarly activities.

If absenteeism exceeds more than 25% the student must repeat the course, regardless of the reasons of absence. Absent without notification to the SAF will receive a 'Failure' grade for the course.
