A
Morning with a Police Commissioner
29th Nov. 2006 will be remembered by Joshi-Bedekar College students
for a long time.
On behalf of Scholars' Academy, Shri. Shivanandan, Police Commissioner
of Thane, was invited to deliver a lecturer on "Personality
Development and How to be Happy."
Thorale Bajirao Peshwe Hall was packed to capacity. Shri Shivanandan
spoke for more than an hour, discussing different problems along
with their possible solutions. He started with focusing on how
one should be positive, clear about one's ambition, and then discussed
different stages of achieving one's ambition.
His message to the youth was "Get up at least one hour before
the world gets up, plan your day's schedule and then start working."
Before joining the Police Force, Shri. Shivanandan was a lecturer
of Economics in a college for three years. Even today, he said,
he enjoyed giving lecturers to his police - force.
He could come to the level of our students and empress the most
complicated and difficult thoughts in a simple way. He enjoyed
being with them. So also our students were thrilled to be with
him.
He has invited our students to discuss with them, over a cup of
tea, different social issues related to the Police Force. He has
also promised to come again and deliver lecturers for our students
as well as staff on different topics like "Students and Cyber
Crime", "Women's Development Cell" etc.
A
real "Student-friendly" Police Commissioner, if ever
there was one.
