Inauguration of Sports Academy and Opening Ceremony of the Renovated
Gymkhana
Report
Inauguration of the Sports Academy and the Opening Ceremony of the Renovated Gymkhana took place on 7th December 2006 at the hands of a renowned cricketer, Mr. Lalchand Rajput.
Principal, Vice-Principal, Professors of Gymkhana Committee, other faculty members, supporting staff, all the coaches and a number of students attended the function.
Mr. Lalchand Rajput was delighted with the unique concept of a Sports Academy in a college. He enjoyed meeting the students and was thrilled to take a round of the college campus. He offered all types of help to develop this Sports Academy in the form of sending good speakers in this field to talk to our students and guide them in the right direction, give them important information and literature on sports. He himself offered to come as and when needed.

Principal's Welcome Speech

Today's Chief-guest, Mr. Lalchand Rajput, all the Coaches, all the Professors of Gymkhana Committee, my other Colleagues and Dear Students,
Welcome on this auspicious occasion of the inauguration of Sports Academy and the opening ceremony of the renovated gymkhana.
Students, you had to wait little longer for your gymkhana. But, as it is said, whatever happens, happens for the good. It had to be inaugurated at the hands of a renowned cricketer, Mr. Lalchand Rajput, and it had to be combined with the inauguration of the Sports Academy.
What is this Sports Academy?
It is not a place where only different sports or games are played.
For that we have gymkhana.
It is gymkhana + something more.

It is sports and games + something more.

This "Something" is very important.

Under this banner of Sports Academy we will invite different Sportsmen, Sports Personalities and Sports Analysts. We will discuss topics like:
- How to win?
-Why do we lose?
- How do we become physically as well as mentally healthy?
- What is a fair game and fair play?
- How to develop concentration?
- What is this winning instinct?
- How to develop sportsman spirit?
- What is to be, and how to be, "sportive"?
We have different sports in our college, like Badminton, Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Football, Athletics etc. But do you all meet and discuss about your games, performances and strategies?
Do all coaches meet and analyse winning and losing battles of your students?
Now we will do all this.
Hence the Academy!
I request all the coaches to take this message seriously and develop the standard of your students.
Similarly I request my sports-students to make use of this Sports Academy.
- Work hard and listen to your coaches.
- Observe how top-level players play.
- Be physically and mentally fit.
- Develop your concentration like an Arjuna.
- Enjoy playing and be good sportsmen.
Thank You.
