         Vidya Prasarak Mandal’s Polytechnic is located on a 13.5 acre of Creek land in Thane named as Jnyanadweep, donated by Govt. of Maharashtra, housing many academic institutes.

         Four buildings spread over a sprawling area of 6200 Sq. meters and a workshop of 500 Sq. meters, provide a conducive environment for learning. The Polytechnic was started in 1983 and is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

         Since last two decades, the institute has made phenomenal progress and is one of the reputed polytechnic in Maharashtra.

         The polytechnic is striving hard to acquire World Wide recognition. The institute proposes to apply for accreditation through National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in the academic year 2003-2004.

         The examination of all 3 years of diploma courses are conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai (M.S.)
