Program
MMS
Program of Mumbai University introduced in June 2005, is now entering
second year. A number of changes were initiated in the academic
year 2005-06, with the introduction of MMS program. During the
academic year 2005-06, a number of new facilities were introduced
in the Institute. The Institute premises were renovated, and new
classrooms were built. Also, a full fledged library, reading room
and also a computer room with wide range of software resources
was constructed. The Institute is now poised to take a leap forward
by upgrading its faculty base and by building up advanced learning
resources.
Five
new members of full time faculty joined from June 2006, in addition
to the earlier three. Two new full time faculty are expected to
join from July, 2006, taking the total of 10. The new faculty
members with specialization in marketing and HR will make our
full time faculty diversified and they would be able to cater
to the need of all specializations like, marketing, finance, HRD,
operations and systems.
In
addition, the Institute has more than 30 visiting faculty members
from Industry and having professional background, associated with
it. Moreover guest faculty are being invited for various specialized
inputs for the benefit of the students.
Our
learning resources department has around 6000 volumes and it subscribes
to about 120 international and national journals. It is proposed
to get EBSCO membership shortly, to facilitate the research work
undertaken by the full time faculty and the students. In addition,
we are also developing a library of audio and video educational
CD's.
With
these facilities, we are encouraging the students to undertake
industry related research and project work, which can directly
bring them closer to the corporate World and the industry.
