Background: The term Biotechnology was coined in 1919 by a Hungarian engineer, Karl Ereky, which meant manipulating living things to improve way of life for humankind ranging from food products to healthcare resources.
The broad field of Biotechnology encompasses many different areas such as medical science, biological science, environmental science, veterinary science, chemistry, agriculture and engineering. Biotechnology is used in diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals, forensics, diagnostics, chemicals, textiles, home products, food processing, aquaculture, and many more to make better products with more efficiency.

The course grades will be converted to the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) system – grading scale A – F. The ECTS is a standard used for comparing performance across the European Union and other collaborating countries allowing for free and easy transfer of students within the system for higher education.
Objective: To provide unparalleled fundamental training in basic scientific principles, concepts, modern techniques and applications in Biotechnology by incorporating the Western style of learning in various courses such as Cell Biology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Pathophysiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and many more. Our program will prepare the students to be cutting edge Biotechnologists with the possibility to pursue Masters and Doctoral programs in the fields of Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, Systems Biology and many more at University of Skӧvde in Sweden, or at Universities in Europe, USA, Canada or anywhere else in the world.
