VPM Quality Education and Skill Development Programmes

Always we discuss about our education system and say we need to bring changes in it. Mainly change needed is developing our academic courses as need based courses required for industry. Industry can be production industry, Marketing industry, Finance industry, Chemical industry, or even Commerce industry.The need for interaction between Industry and Academic Institution can be hardly overemphasized.

If we can't include few of industry requirements in actual syllabi then we can also think of need to develop skill based, job oriented short-term courses. Most of the Academic Institution poses infrastructure, facilities and skilled manpower, which is not utilized to its full potential. On the other hand, industries are facing serious resource crunch for their developmental works.

Vidya Prasarak Mandal always look way ahead and has understood the need of such courses and thought of starting short term, part time, job oriented, post-graduation courses. The special centre for this purpose got inaugurated on 2nd September 1995 named VPM's Advanced Study Centre Late Shri P. R. Mhaiskar Laboratory in the hands of President VPM Dr. V. N. Bedekar.

Our Centre provide a platform for symbiotic association between Industry and Colleges.

We conduct Part Time POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES IN:

1) APPLIED ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

2)DRUG REGULATORY AFFAIRS

3) LANDSCAPE & GARDENING

4) APPLICATIONS OF STATISTICS

5) HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION

Recently as per the need of an hour and to match with University standards and UGC requirements we have modified the syllabi into credit grading system. As per the requirement of the course we have added the field visits, hospital visits and industrial visits. This is to make the students more aware about industry requirements. As per the principle of seeing is believingthe students get hand on experience during these visits. Students have to maintain the record of the same and present during examinations. To have more practical experience project writing and presentation is added in the syllabus, where at the beginning of the year the students have to choose the topic of the project and submit the outline. Through-out the year student has to work on it and present the report during examination.
