Internal Activities

National Mathematics Day

       The students of Primary Section celebrated National Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm on 22 nd Dec, 2022 to honour the great Indian mathematician Shrinivas Ramanujan. Different activities related to maths were conducted in each standard by the teachers.
The Maths activities were as follows:
  • Students of Std I drew different figures using different digits.
  • Students of Std II did mental maths activity by calculating numbers in mind.
  • Std III students made Abacus model using waste materials.
  • Torans using different patterns were made by Students of std IV.
       The celebration even included few students sharing importance of maths in our day to day life and information on Shrinivas Ramanujan. Students had a nice time answering the quiz activity.

Guest lecture 2022

       A guest lecture was arranged for teachers on 23rd December 2022 Dr.Sudhakar Agarkar Member of Managing Committee of VPM, addressed on the topic ‘National Education Policy’.
        On 21st Nov. 2022 Guest lecture was organised for the students of Std IX The Guest was Mrs. Joshi Head of the Thane polytechnic. She delivered a lecture on the topic “sensors and Automation” using a PowerPoint presentation.
        Guest lecture was held for the students of Std VIII on 28th November 2022. The Guest speaker Dr. Mayuresh Joshi ,Asst. Professor in K.C. College guided students on the topic” Global Warming” Guidance on reasons ,effects and precautions regarding global warming were explained using effective PPT and videos

Hindi Diwas 2022

       14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas.This year our topic was hasyaras (laughter). The programme started with Hindi Shayari on Hindi language and followed by various topics prepared by students of std V to X , such as importance of laughter in life ,Hasya Kavita(poem),advertisement in Hindi which created laughter and a story and song based on laughter theme. All the students enjoyed the program and found it very interesting and informative , this time students also made cards ‘wishing Hindi diwas ‘ for higher authorities ‘ and for non-teaching staff.

Guest Lecture for Std VIII

       A Guest lecture had been organized for students of std VIII . The guest lecturer Mr. Anand Bhide spoke on the topic 360o view aspects of Shankh. He explained scientific parts behind mythological stories associated with conches. Also he narrated interesting facts about conches in relation to yoga,meditation dance forms etc.

Sanskrit Day 2022

       Sanskrit day was celebrated on Wednesday 10th August 2022. Students of Std 8th,9th and 10th participated in this programme. They took pledge in Sanskrit. 'Madhurashtkam' was presented melodiously . The recipe of coconut rice i.e. 'Narli Bhat' was shared in Sanskrit. In order to give tribute to the Health care professionals on the background of pandemic, the information of doctors was presented in Sanskrit. Students presented popular advertisements of Maggie and Amul Doodh in Sanskrit and made the programme captivating. At the end students sang ‘Pathat Sanskrutam’ song inorder to tell and emphasize the importance of Sanskrit language.

Independence Day 2022-23

       The Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 15th August 2022 by all present students and entire staff. Our Indian Flag was hosted at Sou. A. K. Joshi English Medium School by Respected Dean Madam of our school Mrs. Kalindi Kolhatkar. The N.C.C. naval cadets and the students of musical band presented the National Anthem on musical instruments.
       The programme began with the National Anthem which was sung by the N.C.C. naval cadets. A programme was arranged by the cultural ministry for the students of std 8th and the theme of the programe was ‘Smt. Draupadi Murmu the newly elected President of India’.
       The students of Std 8th shared Draupadi Murmu’s inspiring life journey through PPT and speeches. It included details of her difficult childhood,education,family life and work profile. The courageand determination she showed in facing extreme hardships was also highlighted. Her oath ceremony as the president on presence of the Chief Justice of India,Ex-president and other dignitaries was shown through a small video. The programme ended with a poem which was a salute to newly elected first tribal and second woman President of India as she exemplifies the power of a common woman,who can surmount all struggles and hurdles to make her way in a man’s world.
       As a part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav school authorities handed over the tricolour flag to the PTA representatives on 12th Aug’22 dos and don’ts to be followed while hosting and lowering the tricolour.
       As a part of Swarajya Mahotsav which began from 9th August 2022,Mharashtra Government announced a collective singing of the National anthem across the state on 18th Aug at 11.00am sharp. Accordingly, the entire staff and students and all those present in the school premises sang the National Anthem on 18th August 2022 at 11.00am.

Drawing Competition 2022-23

       Drawing competition was organize in the memory of our Ex-superintendent Madam Roshan Jal Patel. On 25th June 2022. Students from all classes has participated in this drawing competition. Their creative artwork was colourful and adorable.

Guest Lecture

    A Guest lecture was conducted for Std V and Std VI. The lecturer Mrs. Vandana Shinde explained about various superstitions through experiments . A message to remain alert was given.

Yoga Day - 21st June 2022

    Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2022 at school. Ms. Darshana Mistry(Chief Co-Ordinator Ghantali Mitra Mandal) and Ms. Mrudul Kanade(Yoga teacher) graced the occasion with their presence to provide information and guidance to std VII A,B,C students. They explained the importance of yoga and demonstrated various asanas in which the students participated and enjoyed. The yoga day as a whole was well conducted and concluded.







Interact Club -Installation ceremony

    Installation ceremony of Interact club was conducted on 30th June 2022 . The Chief Guest was Mrs. Vaidihi Santosh from the Rotary club . Names of new committee members were declared.







Science Day Programme - 28thFebruary 2022

    National science Day was celebrated on 28th February 2022.
It is organized to imbibe scientific aptitude in our students and make them understand the application of science in our daily life.
This year a Guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Siddhivinayak Barve from V.G. Vaze College was organized in online mode for the students of std V to IX. The topic of the lecture was ‘wonders of Biotechnology’.
The students enjoyed the lecture as it was very interesting and informative. After the guest lecture all science teachers in their respective science period showed a short video which had information about National children Science congress. The students whose projects were selected for National Level also shared their experience about the competition in form of a video. The program concluded with a Marathi song about science and making children notice their surroundings and try to find out the reasons for the various changes occurring around them. Charts and Posters made by students of std V to IX were also displayed on the display board.


Republic Day Programme - 26th January 2021-22

     In the academic year 2021-22 Republic Day was celebrated online. This year the topic was ‘sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ The programme started by giving the information about the birth and education of ‘Sardar Patel’ The students were inspired by knowing about Vallabhbhai’s selfless nature and his dedication to his work.
The Bardoli satyagraha was very important stage in Vallabhbhai’s life as this incident gave him the title of ‘Sardar’ Sardar Patel’s important role in integration of Indian princely states was explained .
Students also read poem reflecting the courage and efforts taken by Sardar Patel. The programme was concluded with a tribute to this great leader in the form of a video.

Maths Day Celebrations

     Maths Day was celebrated on 22nd Dec 2021 to celebrate birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan Maths was made easy by different presentations prepared by the students. Students presented an easy method of multiplication and learning tables by Vedic method. Maths was made interesting by a song on BODMAS and a dance on different types of angles. Information regarding the life and achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan was given by the students. Learning to derive the formula of (a+b)2was done with the help of geometric figures. A beautiful poem ”Maths is Fun” and interesting charts were displayed on the display board. Students enjoyed the Maths Day celebration and understood each and every presentation though it was done virtually. All students remain thankful to the school for providing the opportunity to celebrate the Maths day online.

Hindi Diwas 14th September 2021
14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas. This year we have celebrated it online. As it was held during Ganesh festival, our topic was Lord Ganesha the almighty. The programme started with Ganesh prayer and followed by videos prepared by students on vaious topics such as Importance of Hindi Diwas , Ganesh on adorable deity, Importance of Ganesha’s various names, weapons offerings(leaves) used in his puja celebration of Ganesh festival out of India, celebration of pollution free Ganesh festival. The programme ended with Ganesha’s aarti All the students enjoyed the programme and found it informative and very interesting.
Teacher’s Day 5th September 2021
The tradition of celebrating to honour teachers was started way back in 1962 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on 5th September every year Sou. A. K. Joshi English Medium school celebrated Teacher’s day on 6 th Sept 2021 with active participation of students from V to X. We began the program with a prayer and students presented speeches in English,Marathi,Hindi and Sanskrit. Anecdotes about great teachers were presented by some students. There was interactive session of std X students of 2021 batch. Students of std VIII presented a presentation on Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnanan. The programme ended with the song
Independence Day (2021-22)
"A programme was arranged for students of Std.VIII on 15th August 2021. The theme of the programme was 'Frontline Workers of the Covid Pandemic'. Dedication and sacrifices of doctors,police force, armed forces etc. were highlighted through various videos. Importance of following Covid guidelines was stressed upon. The programme ended with a saluted to all unknown faces who have enabled us to remain safe."
Sanskrit Day (2021-22)
"Shravan Poornima is celebrated as Sanskrit Day to glorify sanskrit language.This year it was celebrated on 23rd August 2021. An audiovisual programme was prepared by Sanskrit students from Std. VIII to Std. X. Students presented prayers,songs,subhasitas and skits in Sanskrit using PowerPoint presentation. The Programme was enjoyed fully all students. They thanked school for providing them virtual platform to exhibit skills."
REPORT ON YOGA DAY (2021-22) SECONDARY
"Yoga is a gateway to happiness that body needs” “True yoga is not about the shape of our body but the shape of you life” 7th International yoga day was celebrated by the students of Std. VII of Sou. A. K. Joshi English Medium School, Thane on 21st June’21. This day is celebrated to raise the awareness about the benefits of practicing yoga for the people all over the world. Students of Std. VII, held a special assembly to mark this occasion. The day began with the welcoming of our chief guest “ Mrs. Sujata Bhide,the President of Ghantali Mitra Mandal,Thane followed by different yoga asanas performed and demonstrated by Mr. Anand Bhide, Students participated actively by reciting Gayatri mantra and performing asanas like Tadasana, Sravassana, ustrasana, vajraasana etc . Madam also emphasized about the importance of each asana and its benefits leading to healthy life and boosting our immunity. The vote of thanks was extended at the end of the session along with the students views and expression about the event. It was indeed a very knowledgeable and a fresh learning day in which main motive was to spread a message about the importance of yoga to lead a healthy and a better life.
REPORT ON YOGA DAY (2021-22) PRIMARY

"Yoga is an ancient art that connects them in and body.It is an exercise that we perform by balancing the elements of our bodies. In addition, it….helps us meditate and relax. Moreover, yoga helps us keep control of our body as well as mind. Yoga day was held on 21st June 2021 in the school. The teacher conducted virtual Yoga activity with the students of std. I to std. IV (Primary section). Teacher started the activity with the prayer by chanting ‘OM’. Students were told to concentration the breathing. Instructions were given by the teachers regarding various sitting and standing Asana. For Std.1 and Std 2 the following Asana were conducted by the teacher.Vajrasana,Bhadrasana,Tadasanaand,ArdhaChakrasana. For Std 3 and Std 4 the following Asana were conducted by the teacher. ArdhaUshtrasana,Ushtrasana,TrianglePose,Vrikshsana(Treepose). Teacher also conducted and explained student show we are benefitted by Pranayama (Breathing exercises). Students performed all the Asana ....with great interest and zeal. Overall the Yoga activity conducted online was a great success."
Drawing Compition

Through drawing you can express various emotions,train of thoughts, and collective feelings. You can create art anywhere as long as you have two things:pencils and paper. In the memory of Late Madam RoshanJal Patel Online Drawing Competition was held on 23rd June 2021 for students of primary section from Std 1st to 4th. The teacher gave instructions to the students. Students showed great interest in drawing and colouring. The screen looked colourful when students displayed their work .

Ashadhi Ekadashi Activity

Ashadhi Ekadashi is one of the most important religious festivals that is celebrated in Maharashtra. Virtual celebration of Ashadhi Ekadashi was conducted on 20th July’21, with the students of StdI to Std IV. The students wore traditional dress like ‘warkari’ and they performed a wonderful programme online with different activities like songs, Dindi importance, stories, Aarti, etc. Student gave a brief introduction on Ashadhi Ekadashi , they also sang songs of Vitthal ,with the beats of clap. Students enjoyed the ‘Vari' ‘music' and the devotional song on Lord Vitthal –“Vitthal Vitthal Jay Hari Vitthal" played on Youtube. The tiny devotees reminded everyone of the ‘Vari’ of Pandharpur. Overall the programme was a grand success.

Science Day Celebration 2020-21
Topic : Artificial Intelligence
National Science Day was celebrated by the students of Sou. A. K. Joshi English Medium School on 2 nd March 2021. This day is celebrated in the remembrance of the great invention by the Indian Physicist Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman who discovered ‘ Raman’s Effects’ The program began with the importance of Science Day followed by History of Artificial Intelligence in the for of speech given by the students of Std. VI and video. Students also emphasized on the application of Artificial Intelligence like how man has made it a part of his/her life. They also described the uses of Artificial Intelligence . In Militaries, Movies etc. As every coin has two sides, similarly along with the advantages and disadvantages were also put forth. It was indeed a very knowledgeable programme in which the main motive was to spread a message about the importance of Artificial Intelligence used in the daily life of the people
